Maui a great mythical hero

This week we have been learning about how to write using Persuasive writing. I wrote about Maui being a great mythical hero. Here it is:

Introduction: I believe that Maui is a great mythical hero.
Reason 1: My first reason is that Maui helps people a lot because he is a kind of demi-god.
Reason 2: Secondly, he had superhuman strength because he was a strong and powerful demi-god.
Reason 3: Finally, he had a magical, powerful fish-hook that he used to pull islands out of the sea and hold the sun so we had longer days.
Conclusion: So do you agree that Maui is great mythical hero? With his magical fishhook to pull islands out of the sea, hold the sun so we had longer days and his superhuman strength he was definitely a great mythical hero.

An Endless Kiwi Christmas

Hi everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful school holidays. This is my blog post about my Christmas and what I did.
Here it is:

An Endless Kiwi Christmas

Click! I turned on the lights. It was 5am on Christmas morning. Suddenly my parents walked into my room. “Want to open your presents?” asked Mum. “Yes please!” I shouted. I raced down stairs to open my presents, I stopped and saw all these presents waiting for me, especially this humongous present. I sat down and started staring at all my presents that I hadn’t opened.

“Can I open them?” I asked Mum and Dad. “Yes you may,” replied Mum, I was so excited I didn’t know where to start. I was like popcorn popping in a hot pot. Suddenly I spotted my first present I was going to open, it was fat and shaped in a square. I ripped the wrapping paper off like a hungry bear, guess what it was? It was a Scooby Doo lego set, it was just what I wanted. I opened all my other presents and left the biggest for last.

It was time to open the biggest present yet, I couldn’t wait I just dug in. I ripped in like a savage fox eating it’s dinner. I finally finished opening the humongous present, It was a big zebra painting. I hugged my Mum and Dad and gave them a big kiss. “You better get dressed,” Mum said. “Okay,” I replied, I raced upstairs to got changed. Because my two Uncle’s, Nana and Aunty are coming soon.

Drrr! I could hear some cars coming, I zoomed outside and saw two cars coming down the driveway. People started to walk in, I gave my Uncles, Aunty and Nana a big hug. My Aunty gave me some presents I quickly unwrapped the presents, I got Beados, I do 3d and a tote bag. “Best Christmas ever!” I shouted.

Statue of Liberty

We're back at school and the school theme for this year is Learn from a Myth become a Legend. Team Moana started making a google slide about myth and a legend. We had to read a myth or legend online. We also had to explain the difference between a myth and a legend. I chose the legend of the Statue of Liberty, here it is:
Statue of Liberty

The story comes from a culture.
It has non-human characters like gods.
It can have some real characters like plants, humans and other animals.
It is set in a certain place.
It explains a certain phenomenon or says why things are the way they are.
The main parts of the story are:
New York America
No
Bartholdi a sculptor, Alexandre Eiffel an engineer
Builders
New York America
The Statue of Liberty
There is a sculptor Bartholdi who starts building the statue of Liberty in France.  Bartholdi shipped it over to Liberty Island near New York. He continued building on Liberty. Next thing he needed an engineer to help him and his builders. Finally he finished the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is a real golden oldie with 350 pieces.
