Observing the disgusting heart and kidney of a sheep.

Kia ora,
This week we did a language experience that included raw meat. Next, once we had got our meat we had to observe it, cut it open and touch it. Finally, we wrote a poem about the language experience using our 5 senses. We did this task because it linked to Life Education. We were learning about body organs. My group got a sheep heart, we observed it very carefully. Mrs B cooked the meat, I loved it! Here is my writing using my five senses.

Warden Descriptive Writing

Hi,
This term we have been reading the book Holes by Louis Sachar. So far, we have done a drawing of a character in the book and wrote sentences about the character, I drew and wrote about Mr Sir. Now we are writing about the Warden. Here is my brainstorm and descriptive writing about the Warden.

The Warden

Western music meet my ears. A young but mean lady stepped out of the car like a supermodel. Red curly hair sat on her shoulders as she walked through the dry holey desert. Seemingly beautiful on the outside, but the inside was the opposite. Oh, and the eyes! Yes the vibrant, sparkling eyes were as pretty as a picture. Turquoise studs ran down the cowboy boots. It was like the boots got pierced. Why was she a Warden? The job felt simply wrong for a lady like her.

Using ideas from our senses to write Show not Tell sentences.

Kia ora.
We are learning how to add description to our writing by including ideas from our senses and creating Show not Tell sentences. We made Skittle rainbows in class and got to hear, smell, touch, see and taste it.
