Yesterday we did Matariki tasks. I was in Miss Pips class doing a range of activites. Since I was a senior I had to pair up with two juniors Maia and Sienna. Together we made seven stars and hung them up on sticks. Here is our work.

Fire Brigade Cup

Last Thursday the years 5&6 went to the Fire Brigade Cup at Lindvart Park. I played soccer. We won all of our games and the finals. Which was awesome! The next day we had to write a recount or a moment in time about the Fire Brigade Cup. Here is my writing.
“We made it to the finals!” We all shouted. The only reason why? Well that was

because our soccer team had won all of our games. Goal after goal after goal.
We got ready on the field amping to get started and win. We were versing
Kaikohe West, again. I was a sub for most of the games. So I got to see it all
happen right in front of my eyes. Boom! We got a goal. Boom! They got a goal.
Boom! We got five more goals. I’m on and I’m the goalie. Not the exact position
I wanted, but oh well it’ll have to do. Yes I stopped a goal. And I’m replaced by
Ricci-Lee. “Half time!” shouted the ref. I’m on again and this time I’m on the field
chasing the ball. It feels weird. It’s not in my nature to “steal” a ball of someone.
One minute left, better make it count. Chasing after the ball trying to get it is not
easy. Finally finished. Better yet, we won! “I was happy for my team, not really
myself as I was a sub most of the time.”
